45 words

Back in 2002 for the 100th Post, Wowbagger pointed out that, taking all things average, most researchers will contribute 45 words to the Official Guide.

Intrigued by this idea, Demon Drawer decided to expand on this thought a little and produced a series in which he attempted to describe the lives of prominent people in just 45 words—not the easiest task in the world! This series ran from 2002-2004. But now we welcome him back to resume the challenge. Starting with a sad recent loss:

Oliver Postgate 1925 - 2008

Grandfathers one classicist, other Labour leader

Drama school led to Clangers, Noggin, Bagpuss, Ivor

The voice of many childhoods; visions absurd

Smallfilms with big hearts that opened our world

Socialist father proud of anti-nuke stance

New Statesman blogger and historical triptycher

But everyone loved you.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
