The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is the first book of five in the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy trilogy. It is a book about a man named Arthur Dent. He wakes up one morning to find out his house is going to be tore down. Then his friend Ford Prefect tells him the earth is going to be destroyed. They then hitch a ride on a Vogon ship, are sent out into space, get saved by a stolen ship (The Heart of Gold. It was stolen by the former President of the Imperial Galactic Government, Zaphod Beeblebrox, a two-headed, three-armed alien), and land on the legendary planet of Magrathea(A planet that made planets). Arthur then finds out that a computer(Deep Thought) was made to find the Answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything. The Answer was 42. Then the Earth was made to find the Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything. Unfortunatly, it was was destroyed five minutes before the Question was revealed. The other four books in the trilogy are: The Restaurant at the End of the Universe; Life, the Universe, and Everything; So Long and Thanks for All the Fish; and Mostly Harmless.
