Mandala

6 Conversations

This week The Post's Cartoon Corner sees a new contributor - JEllenJ42, artist and familiar Researcher to some of you, will be joining us over the coming weeks to display her fascinating sequence of mandalas.

Rose Encircled

A rose set against a coloured circle background.

Ellen produces all these mandalas by hand, then colours them digitally. These mesmerising pictures led to much discussion at The Post Office. Some spoke of the echoes of Hinduism, while others recalled the mandala in various strands of Buddhism. Still others spoke of the rose windows in some European cathedrals, while some spoke of 1960s album art, buzzsaw blades, or childhood memories of spirograph sets. What does it say to you?
