This week the only other surviving Labour Prime Minister before Tony Blair
celebrated his 90th birthday, which gives me just half a word for each year
of his life. Not a lot really.

Lord James Callaghan Born 1912

Portsmouth born, to a sailor. Navy seaman in World War Two.

Then Labour MP for Cardiff South.

Wilson's Chancellor, Home and Foreign Secretary.

Succeeded Wilson as Prime Minister in 76. But Lost Election to Thatcher.

Became father of the house then retired to the Lords
