Will you be Jammed

A New York politician, Phil Reed, plans to
introduce a bill enforcing the ban of mobile phone users from
having their handsets turned on while in the city's theatres.

Inconsiderate users have annoyed many a theatre
goer. If this bill is passed it could lead to many other towns
and cities around the world following suit. There have also been
calls for jamming devices to be installed in certain public
places where it is felt that the musical ringing tones would be
best silenced.

Well Fancy That?

Would you fancy a robot to cut your lawn? Perhaps
hoover the floor or clean the windows.

Kiwi boffins from Massey University in Albany
have unveiled a gadget for the tech-no-gardener - an internet
controlled robotic lawnmower. The prototype is based upon the
shape and movements of a cockroach. This could evolve to perform
a number of jobs around the home - including vacuuming and
cleaning floors and windows.

It is hoped that a marketable version will be
available in the next 5 years. Well, Fancy That!

Monkey included in ITV
DIGITAL SELL OFF

ITV Digital will be finally laid to rest in September
as liquidators Deloitte and Touche auction off the contents of
the London headquarters. Even a few monkeys are on offer,
although the main stocks of these were sold to the Gadgit Shop
for £250,000.

Offers are expected from many differeant
countries around the world, as all from paper clips to office
furniture, lamps to video recorders, telephone equipment to
digital terrestrial television multiplexors and associated
equipment.

If you are interested in launching your own
digital terrestrial TV station, or want to buy yourself some
office equipment or a new television, log on to The Auctioneers for full details of the auction. It is on the
cards that there will be a live webcast of the event.

Oh, just in case you didn't know the new UK
digital terrestrial licence holder, is a consortium of
broadcasters headed up by the BBC. - Aunty gets in everywhere! smiley - smiley
