Freebie Film Tip #6: Marionettes in Space

King Kong holding Fay Wray; a UFO in the background.

Do you like puppets? Frankly, I don't, much, unless they're the Muppets (with John Cleese in). Now, Muppets in space work just fine. But back in the 1960s, we were subjected to Fireball XL5, a truly cringe-making marionette show. Steve Zodiac and his crew whizz around the solar system in their peachy-keen rocket. The cheese quotient is extremely high.

Zodiac's crewmember, Venus, is dishy. Although a chemist, she makes 'dinner', because, of course, she's the Girl, and girls make dinner, get it? Gack, gack, and gack.

See if you hate this as much as Elektra and I did growing up. The music is 'strictly from hunger', as we used to say.
