#29: The Great Globe Itself

This photo comes from the h2g2 Post's collection of submissions to Create's November project. We'll be posting a photo a day for the month of November.
The Great Globe Itself
A photo by me, taken at this year's Autumn Leaf Festival. I liked the float. It's a very local affair, but well-attended. Lots of marching bands, local personalities – including the Peanut Butter Princess – and big firetrucks and such. Also dogs and horses in costumes. It's a gala day, and this year, it was even warm and sunny. Much appreciated.
We're getting close to the end of the month, and I'm already feeling nostalgic about this NaJo project. The pictures have been so fine, and the chat so lively, that we couldn't have asked for a better response. So I just want to thank everyone who has participated.
But we defy Shakespeare:
And like the baseless fabric of this vision,
The cloud-capped towers, the gorgeous palaces,
The solemn temples, the great globe itself –
Yea, all which it inherit – shall dissolve,
And like this insubstantial pageant faded,
Leave not a rack behind.
The Tempest, Act IV, Scene 1
Pooh. You can visit it any time you want. That's why God made A-spaces.
