Join the Q: Aurora Borealis

On 18 September, 2023, I was browsing Twitter when I spotted an alert by VirtualAstro saying that aurora activity was currently high, so there was chance of seeing something in the UK. I had previously seen a glimmer of the Aurora Borealis in 2012 when the 11-year cycle of the sun was previously reaching its peak, but my photo didn't turn out well, so I gladly rushed outside to try again. My photos still weren't great, as there is a considerable amount of light pollution to the north of my house, but this time I captured more than a glimmer, which was pleasing.

Glimmers of light in the north
Wisps of light in the sky
