So, what am I doing here? Good question.

I'm a 22 year old chap from Liverpool, who's just moved from the mecca of the north, Manchester, to the crazy London suburb of Ealing. Is that confusing? I am determined not to adopt a southern accent. It's not because I think the southern accent is strange or in any way offensive, but because I would feel obliged to learn some of the local 'rhyming slang'. Apparently it's common practice in the area around London to refer to £25 as a 'Pony' and the part of your body you sit on as your 'Queen Mum'.

I decided to become a H2G2 researcher because I've never been any good at keeping a diary and things keep leaking out of my brain. I don't mean squishy, smelly things, but thoughts, ideas etc. So I'm going to publish them for all to see (or ignore) here.

I divide my time between exploring our planet, exploring the internet, and pretending to be a World War II fighter pilot or a Jedi Knight. In my spare time I work as the Network Manager for IIS , a Microsoft Solutions Provider in Maidenhead, which is nice.

World War II fighter pilot? You're nuts!

Hmmmm, maybe you're right. I'm a keen player of a fantastic online computer game called Air Attack. In case you've spent most of your life doing meaningful, constructive things and haven't heard of Air Attack, it's a World War II fighter combat game, and it's a lot of fun. It's played on a UK online games service called Wireplay.

The Air Attack community consists of a few hundred (maybe more, who knows?) avid players, who enjoy pretending to blow each other out of the skies in a virtual dogfight. Pop in to the
AA noticeboard and meet some of the regulars, they'll make you welcome(ish).

I'm the Executive Officer for the Vultures Squadron , a group of players who are mostly based in Manchester (a secret - we're not that good - mum's the word).

Jedi Knight? dum dum de dum, dum de dum dum de dum....

Yes, I am a Star Wars fan and I am especially interested in the Jedi Knights. I have recently started a website about the Jedi, which I plan to include a detailed section about the Jedi weapon, the Lightsaber. Pop in for a look at jediknight.org.uk , but there's not much there yet.

I recently got a replica Lightsaber made for me, and it's great. Check out Tony Goble's Custom Lightsabers website.
