My NameUPDATE - WELL EVERYONE. HERE I AM, BACK AFTER A COMPUTERLESS ABSENCE OF NEARLY TWO YEARS. NOTHING TO REPORT. EXCEPT A MNOR ADDICTION TO TARAMASALATA. No, sadly I am not an international, guerrilla, freedom-fighter. The alias is due to the fact that I used to work in a nuclear bunker.
It was a very nice bunker with showers and a microwave, and it involved a lot less concrete than you might imagine (and probably a lot more chipboard).
I lived in a caravan on the roof.
Now I live in a perfectly normal house in Stirling, Scotland and can only look back fondly on the days when I had the kind of address that makes postmen curse.

In a valiant attempt to embrace technology, I have begun constructing my very own website. I'd like to stress the 'begun' bit because it's more than a little bit patchy in places. I think 'gaping great holes in the content' describes it better.However, you'll hopefully be able to find out a little bit more about me and my life here. Most of the writing I do ends up on my website but one of these days I'm going to edit some of it, make a few additions and start posting it as guide entries on this site.
My Background
I didn't just work in the bunker for the sheer joy of being in confined spaces (lets face it, having an office 100ft underground isn't exactly a saught after experience). The bunker used to be the Government headquarters for Scotland in the event of a nuclear war. Since 1994 it's been a cold war museum and I was employed there as the curator.
Previous to that job I studied for a postgraduate diploma in Museum and Gallery Studies at St Andrews University, and an MA Hons in Celtic History and English Lit at the University of Aberdeen (both in Scotland). I'm practically 27. Goodness, how time flies.
