Back In Blighty
And so we've returned.
Until a year or so ago I was a drunken student in Sheffield, then a friend and I finished, got jobs then skipped out of the country for a while. Went round the bloody world, would you believe it?!
An 8 and a half month trip which took in Canada, Hong Kong, China, Tibet, Nepal, India, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi, Tanzania, Kenya, Egypt, Greece, Italy, Switzerland and France. We never did make it to Tipperary, Ireland, but we'll go soon, making it a really long way to, oh ignore me.
And what did we do? Camped all over the place, from Everest Base Camp to a Pacific island, looked unsightly on as many famous places as you can shake a stick at and generally saw as much of this big old world as we could. We cycled across Tibet, which lead to my writing Tibet By $30 Bicycle for h2g2, tried to find boats across oceans all over the place, and hitched for a sizeable chunk of Europe. Coupled with too many close wildlife encounters in Africa and a new imperviousness to Indian touts, it was one hell of an experience.
I was using my journal space to give updates on were up to, whenever we found a computer, so go through that to discover what we did in more detail.
During the trip I was also proud to accept the role of Keeper Of Comedy Hats, of which we had many. As soon as I sort myself out I'll do more to justify this appointment.
Finally, I intend to compose a general survival guide to the World for h2g2 and will be needing the help of everyone out there so don't forget me!
Anyway, good to be back, and hopefully I'll stop life from slowing down!
