Silverfish - A brief history of me
About Me
I am Mathematics graduate from Nottingham University.
I live in Hasland a village in Chesterfield,Derbyshire. Chesterfield is known for a number of things. The Mary and All Saints Church is known as The Crooked Spire. It was also the constituency of Tony Benn, before he resigned as MP, before the last election, when a liberal democrat was elected.
The football team (nicknames the Spireites) was quite successful a few years back in the FA cup, and has been in the second division for quite a while.
I am an atheist, as I have seen nothing to convince me there is a god. I am generally skeptical of the supernatural.
I have fairly broad music tastes. I am currently rather into Sarah Harmer, Jason Mraz, The Scissor Sisters, The Black Eyes Peas, and also Steely Dan,James Taylor, among others. I'm getting into They Might be Giants. I am also a keen attender of folk concerts, and in particular I'm a fan of Jez Lowe (and the Bad Pennies), Bob Fox, The Witches of Elswick.
Scouting
I have recently (as of December 2006) resigned as a Scout, although I plan to stay on the site, and may even contribute some more entries.
Folding at home
I used to be involved in the folding at home project. With the project, you can lend your spare computer time to research into protein folding. Understanding protein folding might help prevent, or cure some disease such as Parkinson' Disease. I have a page set up about the project:here
Seventeen or Bust
I contribute to Seventeen or Bust. This is a mathematical distributed computing project. The F.A.Q. section of the website gives explaination for what it is about, and I might write an article about it.
