Requiem for H2G2

H2G2 was once a beautiful community populated by interesting people, stimulating ideas, and wonderful writings. Ideas were openly exchanged and some of the most demented (and funny) dialogues were generated. Life was good. Then one day, a horrible presence was felt among the happy denizens of H2G2 land. Was it the Nazgul? Karnack? Beelzebub? No it was an entity more insidious and harmful than any nemesis ever encountered before. It was the brain-eaters from the B*B*C. Quickly their storm troopers set about dismantling the treasure that once was H2G2. Bios were burned, stories were stripped, and dialogues were decimated all in the name of the new “house rules” that force conformity to the quaint, politically correct, and totally naive viewpoint of the B*B*C concerning the way the web works (or should).

All my stories and ideas were deleted by the censors including one who’s only possible transgression was the implication that the British drive on the wrong side of the road (which they do).

This puts me in an untenable position since my alter ego ubiquitous is registered here and there is no way to resign my position (unregister) without risk of someone else taking it over.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
