The h2g2 Poem

Keystrokes

Where is this train going?

On the tracks we have set

Where are the stations?

Are we far away yet?

Within a few keystrokes

You have entered my mind

Entered.Taken over,

Whilst I try to unwind.

Whilst I sit and gaze

At the paper out spread,

Your voice echoes back

Through my empty head.

My head full of images

Of you, blonde and sweet.

Please dont run away

When we eventually meet.

The coffee sits cold

Down by my side

As I try to work out

If I need to go hide.

Away from my feelings

Safely back to my shell

Where is this train going?

Can you or I tell?

You have been through so much

In your recent past.

The last thing you need -

Another pain in the arse.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
