The Doors

Jim Morrison (vocals), Ray Manzarek (keyboard/keyboardbass), Robbie Kreiger (guitar) and John Densmore (drums) formed in 1965 in Los Angeles a band. They took the name The Doors from Aldous Huxley's The Doors of Perception. They had four bass players, during the years, Doug Labahn (1967), Leroy Vinegar (1968), Lonnie Mack (1970) and Jerry Scheff (1971). Their fist album was made, after Jac Holzman, head of Elektra Records, had sign the Band. After their first two albums Morrison got drugproblems, which was the cause for his death on July 3, 1971 in Paris. After his death, the rest of the Band kept the name and made three more albums together.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
