The Sonnet of the Grapefruit

0 Conversations

In thine glow is sunlight golden and pure

From skin that shines with morning's first rays bright

To pearly juice of sparkling allure

And blessed flesh of sunset's ruddy light

Those who taste you shall feel their bite return

For searing strength hides beneath flesh so pale

Yet many seek and for your nectar yearn

As from your healing touch flies sickness frail

To partake of your halls so fit for kings

Brings the chimes of a thousand drops of dew

As they march in step along your perfect rings

Each vision so tantalizing and true

What radiant orb fixates every stare

Save glorious grapefruit gleaming and fair
