Well, I'm afraid the information I got from the beacon about h2g2 will have to wait, since I have been busy with school work and haven't had time to record all the data yet. However, I thought I would give you some information about the beacon just as a taster.

  • The beacon is large. Very large. I expected it to be much smaller, however, it seems to have expanded as it recorded and transmitted more and more information.

  • The beacon is located on the original h2g2 site, h2g2.com, however, a number of small beacon scanners were transferred with the site when it was transferred to the BBC, allowing the beacon to continue recording data.

  • The beacon has not been accessed once in the last three years, meaning that the information flow must have been continuous and the beacon never had any faults.

  • The information the beacon contains will shock the foundations of h2g2.

And Finally...

Hopefully I'll have the full low down on the beacon, but if not, then expect nothing or more facts.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
