If you were a music god, what instruments would you let in your orchestra?

Dubious Inventions: The Saxophone

The first saxophone.

That, friends, is the first saxophone. Patented in 1846. By a Belgian, one Adolphe Sax. Yes, he named it after himself.

What's the difference between a saxophone and a vacuum cleaner?

You can tune a vacuum cleaner.

Old US music teacher joke.

Played by presidents, used in marching bands, orchestras, and even by street musicians, this instrument has actually grown in popularity over the years. Opinions are divided on this invention: brilliant sound or 'stop stop stop my ears are hurting'? You be the judge.

If you were making up an orchestra, what instruments would you include? Accordions: societal menace or jolly addition to a fun evening? What about kazoos? There's no accounting for musical tastes.
