The h2g2 Traveller: I Want to Hang My Bicycle

1 Conversation

Europe is a strange continent.

I Want to Hang My Bicycle

A bicycle hanging from a lamppost in Berlin.

Milla contacted us via the internet. 'I'm on the train in Copenhagen,' she said. 'I'm on my way home from Berlin.'

'Did you see anything interesting?' we asked naively. In reply, she sent us this photo.

It was taken near Görlitz Park, Kreuzberg. We don't quite know what to say. Is it a new form of art installation? A cruel and unusual punishment for bicycle offenders? A political or philosophical statement? Or just one of those 'you had to have been there' sort of things?

Travel broadens the mind – and fills it with perplexity.
