Factoid Fred and the Vampire Deer

Carved Owl

Fred writes, informatively:

I have seen some really diabolical wood carvings up north in Scotland but this at least shows detail and realism. Most of the Highland versions look like road kill – talking of which when I walked the same route as I did a few days ago, I found a fresh dead rat, rabbit and Muncjack deer (Chinese import with prominent canine teeth).

The other day I found 8-9 dead deer, all of the same species on my trip of about ten miles there and back. Yesterday I saw four jays, members of the crow family. Usually they don't flock but appear singly. I also set up a live deer on both occasions.

I resisted the urge to send more trees.
