What's the scene with this Hull meet, then? Is there a guide entry explaining it, or is it all done through word of mouth? Is it definitely fixed on the 12th of July? What's the format? All meet in a pub? Go somewhere? Meets in the pub on the previous evening? etc. etc.

Hi Gnomon,

Last year was our first meet in Hull, and was basically just a few friends gathering together. We know there are a lot of researchers in the Yorkshire area, so we are thinking of opening it up to those who would like to attend.

So far the date is the only thing we have fixed at 12th July, 2008.

Last year we had our meet on the Saturday from late afternoon and through the evening, and visited the local sea life centre on the Sunday. This year, we are looking into visiting one of the museums, as long as it is nearby.

It would be wonderful if you came with us

There are two Premier Inns in Hull. Was it the West one, near the bridge that you stayed in last year?

Yes, it's most odd!

Well, it's North of Hull, rather than being west of Hull. THe one that is west of Hull is called Hull West.
