Pam Fisher

Hi,

My name is Pam Fisher and in 1991 I married a fantastic guy called Colin who is a Licenced Aircraft Engineer (Avionics).

When we married he told me that he couldn't predict what would happen in our lives but he assured me it would not be boring!! How right he was. Within three weeks of our wedding he had the opportunity of working in Orlando, Florida May - October 1991 - 1993. That was just the start of what has turned out to be our own 'life's adventure'. In 1994 I started my own small business with much encouragement from Colin, teaching computer software. The business is still a success as next year it enters its 10th year.

In 1995 I had the opportunity of getting more involved with my life long interest in complementary therapies. I gained my Holistics qualifications over the following couple of years and now practice Aromatherapy Massage, Bach Flower Remedies, Reiki and Crystal Therapy.

All of this was with, once again, great encouragement from hubby Colin. Together we have developed our love of crystals and minerals from being avid collectors into building up significant stock over the past couple of years to commence an internet business sometime soon.

Filling in some background stuff, in 1967 I married my first husband and within three months of that I found myself living in Singapore for three years (he was in the RAF). In 1969 we had twins Clive Alan Rogers and Marie-Louise Rogers. We returned home to UK in December 1969 with the babies to live a normal 'service' life as a family. We divorced in 1989.

My son Clive Rogers and his wife Sarah have two lovely boys, Luke aged 8 and Jake aged 6. They are a lovely family and are doing very well for themselves. The boys are spoilt rotten and loved very much by us all.

My daughter Marie-Louise Rogers is the reason I find myself here writing about who I am.

She has had a varied and interesting corporate business life and has been very successful, owns her own home and doing well working within the research and development area of wines and spirits industry. In March 2002 she gave up her job and undertook a years course at the UK Sailing Academy in the Isle of Wight to take her Yachtmaster Ocean. Her interest in sailing began in 1993 when she formed part of an amateur crew in the Fastnet Race.

At the completion of the course she went to Tenerife to stay with my brother and his wife who live there with their young family. Whilst there through various coincidences she was asked by John Ridgeway to join the Albatross team from Tenerife to Capetown. They arrived safely in Cape Town albeit a bit late due to some problems with their mast. Marie is now back in the UK having thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of the trip. She is now working on the next phase of her sailing career.
