The h2g2 Poem

1 Conversation

In your cave

Where do you go to my sweetheart

When I don’t get a phone call?

Could you be pining so sadly

Or not thinking of me at all!

Where do you go to my angel

When you don’t send an email?

Can you not make the connection

Or has our love grown stale?

Where do you go to my darling

You’re not on the radar screen!

Are you contemplating our future

Or regretting what we have been.

Where do you go to my honey

When you don’t send me a text

Are you composing a sonnet

Or picking out who’ll be your next?

Where do you go to my lovely

When you’re alone in your bed

Do you sleep deeply and soundly?

Or replay the things that we said

Have you crawled inside your cave

- lonely, dark, cold

Unwilling to face the harsh realities of the outside world

- so sunlit and carefree

Unable to reconcile your inner turmoil

- with the tedious mundane pretences of those around you

Unready to meet the challenge

- of the unsure future and its unseen hurt.

smiley - rosesmiley - rosesmiley - rosesmiley - rose
