The New New blob

There used to be something here, didn't
there?

I just read a posting on the web that compared the size of a rather large database to 0.055% of the entire verbage spoken by mens, womens and bairns since the first Cro-Magnon committed ullage.
Now, this is utter pucky. Not only is it silly to compare computer
code to data, but it is silly to compare data pileage with speech.
Both involve an enormous amount of repetition, not to mention a lot of
mispronunciation. But for a bored commentator to sit there and say
that there is an estimated amount of speech per day for the entire
bunch of Homo Sapiens since the first one crawled out of the womb of
his ape descendant mummy (I have a terrible memory for species) is is
a steaming pile of dingo's kidneys...

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
