The h2g2 Poem

Love

I saw her first, when my eyes burnt into fire.

She was dark, polite and smooth;

The world stopped in our eyeball contact.

The first virus of love began to grow.

The dry branches in winter trees mocked,

When we felt we were beneath the mother sky.

The sky was true; the love was true,

But we asked each other if we were true.

Once my eyes began to trust

I summoned the danger,

The danger of love and life.

Truth was at stake in our eyes.

Oh love, our eyes beget you.

Our heart nourishes you.

Our reason destroys you.

Our memory repents for you.
