The h2g2 Poem

Food for Thought

On the first day I ate an Alligator

It went down with a snap

I licked my lips to savour the taste

And gave my belly a slap

On the second day I ate a Bear

It was very fat to swallow

The fur sort of tickled as it went down

But it filled a gap that was hollow

On the third day I ate a Cobra

A slippery, hissing snake

It ended up in coils inside me

The indigestion kept me awake

On the fourth day I ate a Donkey

Its hooves was hard to chew

But down it went without a care

The next day would be off to the zoo

On the fifth day I ate an Elephant

Trunk to tail it was bigger than a shed

I swallowed it down with a sip of drink

For some time after I had to lie in my bed

On the sixth day I ate a Frog

It went down with a hop, skip and jump

It made me cough I began to choke

So some kind soul gave my back a thump

On the seventh day I fasted

And gave my tummy a rest

It was something I felt I had to do

As I contemplated which had tasted the best?

On the eighth day...

I decided to become a vegetarian
