Meets

  • The NE USA Researchers Group is meeting this weekend in NYC and details are being finalised. To make this easy a yahoo group has been set up temporarily so those coming in to the city can connect with those who live there and are meeting people at Grand Central, Penn and hotels. If you're coming to the meet please sign up
    Here.

If you're not yet signed up but would like to come to NYC for the meeting the page is here.

  • Scottish xMas Extravaganza Glasgow 2001

S.M.E.G. 2001, aka smiley - sheep is being held on Saturday 24th November in Glasgow.

    Details can be found here.

Naturally, everyone is invited. There are 20 people signed up already, so the more the merrier.

Events have not been finalised as yet, but the suggestions are coming in and the page is updated regularly.

  • Australian Meet: Melbourne.

Yet another upcoming event is the Melbourne mini-meet which is due to take place in the Public Bar of Young and Jacksons hotel starting at 7pm on 3rd December 2001

Apparently this well-known watering hole can be found, more-or-less, by following these directions:

    Go to Flinders St Station.

Stand on the front steps under the clocks.

    Look across the road.

No, not at the concrete horror - left a bit.

Left a bit more from the cathedral.

If you are uncertain of exactly where Flinders Street Station is try using Loonytunes description!
'The one that's painted a tasteful puke yellow.'

No official page appears to have been set up for this meeting of the Aussies and a Kiwi, but you can keep an eye on them in This forum.

  • The Official h2g2 Winter 2002 Party

    To quote Peta:

We've just started a page for people to sign up for the next official h2g2 party. It's to be held on Saturday 26th January 2002. We hope you can make it!

Venue: Central London, but no further details as of yet.

If you'd like to attend please RSVP on the party page, which you'll find here.

As of going to press there were already 31 researchers signed up a raring to go!

  • Danish Meet-up

Our friends in Denmark are starting planning early for a proposed meet in Spring 2002! Visit the sign up thread or introduce yourself at the newly created Scandinavian Researchers Club.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
