The First Pre-Amble
Welcome all dna site members, to the brand new Environmental Society. This hopes to be a place where members of all the various dna sites can come together and meet others with an interest in the environment.
Hopefully this place can act as a focal point for discussion amongst people who are aware of the fact that we only have one of these --> 
, and that the less we humans do to break it the better.
This is of course a quarter of what 360 has been set up to do, but at the moment not that many of the h2g2 researchers know about 360, and far from rivalling 360, one of my personal hopes for this society is that it will help swell the numbers of 360 aware h2g2 researchers.
The whole point of the society is to have a nice informal place to chill out, raise environmental issues, maybe do some brainstorming for some solutions, and hopefully help people write their own, but also collaborative entries for 360. I am sure that there are many people who care about the environment out there on h2g2, but I dont know who, so when I felt like I needed a bit of help on some ozone entries I wanted to write, I didnt know who to ask. Hopefully this space can be used to pool the knowledge, resources, and will to do something that abound around the dna sites.
I have a lot of ideas for this space, and for this society, and one of them is that it is not going to be a one man show. Eventually I hope that I will not be the only person maintaining this space, but more about that later. In the meantime, I am going to wait for the first few people who have expressed an interest in such a society or club as this to come along and see, and say what they have to say about my work so far - a feeble excuse to let me do some work actually, but nevermind.

Butterfly Survey
The Butterfly Conservation Society are looking for people to take part in their Butterfly Survey this year. Many native species of butterfly in britain are under serious threat, and they are hoping to find out the extent of the problem. Click on the link and get them to send you a survey pack, and you can can not only help the survey, but learn more about british butterflies too.
Consumed
Consumed is Big Mad Mr T's "online magazine critiquing, satarising and analysing capitalist consumer culture and its influences on society". Hopefully one day there will be More information to follow??

The Ozone Layer Homepage is where to start exploring the series of entries on ozone that vogonpoet promises to finish at somepoint once he gets the ball rolling over here. Any offers of help from anyone with a bot of ozone knowledge would be most gratefully recieved
